Jerusalem West -Jaffa Road

Jaffa Road is one of the longest roads in Jerusalem. The street follows the path of the original road to Jaffa (now Tel Aviv) and today connects the old city to the downtown triangle (King George V and Straus Street) the Ben Yehuda Street mall and the city hall. The road was first paved in 1861, expanded during the time of the British Mandate and in 2011 has been developed as a pedestrian/light rail zone ensuring a vibrant street life day and night.

The Israel Museum

The Israel Museum was established in 1965 as Israel’s most important cultural and historical museum and is situated in the Givat Ram Neighbourhood, across from the Knesset, the Israeli Supreme Court and near the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Two of the highlights of the museum are the Shrine of the Book wing which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Second Temple Model which has a scale model of the temple, the city and the topography of the Second Temple Period just before the destruction.
